On Tuesday night, thieves broke into a home in Nospelt via an open garage, stealing four rifles and ammunition, with two of the weapons later found outside and some stolen ammo discovered in Kehlen.

A number of thefts were reported in Nospelt, Weiler-la-Tour, and in Luxembourg City on Wednesday.

On Tuesdsay night, unknown individuals gained entry to a house on Rue de Dondelange, Nospelt, via an open garage. Once inside, they opened a weapons cabinet in the basement and stole four rifles and ammunition.

Two of the stolen weapons were later discovered outside the property. An investigation was launched following the incident, leading to the discovery of some of the stolen ammunition on a field path in Kehlen.

Further thefts

On Wednesday afternoon, police received reports of an attempted break-in on Rue du Schlammestee in Weiler-la-Tour. Two people fled after being discovered by a resident.

During their escape, one of the perpetrators knocked the resident to the floor, leaving them with minor injuries.

A third suspect collected the two would-be thieves in a nearby car, driving off towards the French border. Police launched an investigation but were unable to find the individuals.

They did, however, discover a screwdriver thrown away during the escape.

In Luxembourg City, one or multiple individuals broke into a stationary vehicle in a car park on Avenue Kennedy. The perpetrator smashed open a window and stole a handbag from within.

The bag's owner was able to find the discarded handbag in a park near the car park after the event, although the thief or thieves had emptied it of any money.

On Sunday, a man was arrested for stealing alcohol from a shop on Avenue Pasteur in Limpertsberg. He has since been brought before a magistrate.
