It has not been long since Payconiq users were asked to switch to Wero but the first phishing emails are already in circulation.

The email currently doing the rounds claims that the recipient needs to renew their security certificate in order to avoid problems when switching to the new app.

The message features a button with a link to a site where users are asked to enter their personal details.

A closer look at the email, however, shows that it was sent from a South African address.

But this is clearly a phishing attempt. Users should not click on the link, and should instead delete the email.
