On Thursday morning, a number of roads across Luxembourg were closed to traffic due to trees blown down by Storm Ciaran's strong winds.

As of 7.30am on Thursday, the Automobile Club Luxembourg reported fallen trees on several main roads across the country.

The following routes were affected:

  • The N8 between Gäichel and Kreuzerbuch: the road was completely closed following an accident involving several vehicles and fallen trees.
  • The N27 between Bockholtz and Toodler Millen
  • The N10 between Bollendorf and Dillingen: traffic was disrupted following a crash.
  • The CR134 between Manternach and Mertert

At least one lane was blocked at each location listed above, according to the ACL. Motorists are advised to exercise caution, particularly during the yellow weather alert issued by Meteolux, which is set to last until 11am.
