Storm Ciaran hit Luxembourg on Thursday morning, with strong winds leading to a yellow alert.
Storm Ciaran descended on parts of France on Wednesday and brought high-risk conditions in the Grand Duchy on Thursday.
Météolux issued a yellow alert for the entire country starting at 7am and ending at 11am. The alert was subsequently extended to 4pm.
The weather agency reported that wind gusts could reach 65-80 km/h. Rainfall is expected to ease off in the afternoon.
A number of fallen trees resulted in multiple road closures on Thursday morning.
Some flights were also cancelled from lux-Airport in Findel, affecting Luxair routes to London, Paris and Amsterdam.
