On Saturday afternoon, on place Clairefontaine in Luxembourg city, people showed their solidarity with the people in Gaza.
Approximately 250 people gathered for the demonstration. According to Michel Legrand, a member of the committee for peace in the Middle East, the European Union needs to do more to support the people of Palestine. "The EU is Israel's biggest economical partner. They managed to rapidly arrange sanctions against Russia, because of the war in Ukraine. But in the conflict between Israel and Palestine there are no sanctions. We hope that this will change soon."
Rabiaa Alprasi hails from Syria and participated in the demonstration. She has been a supporter of Palestine for some time. More than anything she wishes for the violence against children to stop. "I want to show the world, how much the children are suffering, especially the children in Gaza. We are against the murdering of children, regardless of their nationality."
In Luxembourg a handful of demonstration have recently taken place in support of Israel and Gaza.
