On Thursday afternoon, the Filmakademie and Film Fund revealed the nominees for this year's Luxembourg film awards.

The tenth edition of the "Lëtzebuerger Filmpräis" sees 40 productions competing for prizes, split across twelve categories. The film academy's 400 members will vote for the winners of 11 categories, with an additional special jury for the best virtual or extended reality feature award. This jury will be composed of Françoise Poos, scientific and artistic director of the Art Technology Science & Society Programme for the frEsch charity; Toby Coffey, head of digital development at London's National Theatre; and Ana Brzezinska, curator of the Tribeca Immersive Festival.

Unusually, the “Best Original Music” category has six nominees, with two people tying for fifth place at the end of the first round. A special prize will also be awarded by the Luxembourg Cinematographic Press Association (ALPC).

The second round of voting begins on 13 October and concludes on 4 November.

The awards ceremony will be held on November 11, 2023 at the Grand Théâtre de la Ville de Luxembourg.
