Minister Meisch described the launch of the university, which happened amid ongoing debates and controversies in 2003, as a courageous move. Today, the decision to found the institution has paid off as the country has benefited from it in various ways, noted the politician. Research sites now exist in Belval, Kirchberg, and Limpertsberg.
