Responding to a distress call, the fire brigade rushed to a building site where a crane operator had suffered a heart attack. There was one major problem: the man was perched 30 metres high in his cabin.

The critical mission to save the crane operator was executed by the highly trained members of GRIMP, the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps’ reconnaissance and intervention group specialised in hazardous environments. They successfully performed resuscitation procedures at an astounding height of 30 metres.

Once his condition had stabilised, the crane operator was carefully lowered into a gondola and subsequently transported by the ambulance service to the National Institute of Cardiac Surgery and Interventional Cardiology (INCCI).

A total of 22 firefighters were mobilised for this intricate rescue operation, with contributions from the GRIMP unit and teams hailing from Sanem-Differdange and Schifflange.
