Meteolux has issued a weather warning as temperatures are anticipated to soar, potentially surpassing 30 degrees in some areas during Friday afternoon. Meanwhile, in neighbouring France, 14 departments have been placed on orange alert.

According to Luxembourg's national weather service, Friday will be sunny with no rain in sight and accompanied by a gentle breeze. However, a yellow heat warning has been issued for the southern part of the country. This alert, indicating "potential danger," will be in effect from 2pm to 7pm with temperatures hovering around 30 degrees. Residents are advised to stay well-hydrated and take precautions against the sun including using sunscreen, wearing sunglasses, and donning a cap or hat.

This hot spell is expected to persist at least until Tuesday with temperatures possibly reaching 32 degrees over the weekend.

These warnings will affect 14 departments in the Ile-de-France and Centre-Val de Loire regions while the 36 other departments will be on yellow alert.

Maximum temperatures are expected to soar, ranging from 26 to 28 degrees in Brittany and along the English Channel, and between 30 to 34 degrees in other areas. The Paris, Centre-Val de Loire, and northern Auvergne regions may experience peak temperatures of 35 to 36 degrees.
