Ministers François Bausch and Taina Bofferding have introduced a set of comprehensive guidelines aimed at implementing effective traffic calming measures across the country.
The initiative seeks to bolster safety on Luxembourg's roadways, addressing critical aspects of road design and management.
Initial insights suggest a multifaceted approach, including the expansion and improved layout of cycle paths and pedestrian crossings. In addition, areas frequented by the public will undergo targeted reorganisation efforts. Special attention will be directed towards the establishment of 20 and 30-kilometre-per-hour zones.
Minister for Mobility François Bausch and Minister for Home Affairs Taina Bofferding highlighted these three pivotal aspects during their presentation of the road traffic calming guidelines on Wednesday morning.
Comprising over 200 pages, the comprehensive document will provide stakeholders with a wealth of practical examples. These examples encompass improved signposting methods and strategies for planning zones with speed limits of either 20 or 30 km/h.
