As the vehicle was clearly in poor condition, the police had stopped the car in the Gare district at around 2am on Sunday morning. However, the driver fled at high speed and was only intercepted at the Boulevard Dupont intersection with rue Raymond Pointcarré.
Whilst the passenger was caught, the driver managed to flee, says the report. Despite intensive investigation, he had still not been found as of Monday afternoon.
Upon further checks, a bag of cannabis was found in the vehicle, but it was also concluded that the car was not insured.
