This according to data from Statec, which we reported on previously. As we noted in our earlier article, salaries vary considerably and higher salaries tend - perhaps unsurprisingly - to concentrate in municipalities closer to the capital city.
The below table allows you to sort by municipality name, or by the average (mean or median) income, or the threshold salary for the top-10% and bottom-10% earning categories.
Amendment: To clarify in response to comments, the salaries are based on place of residence and not place of employment. That is, people who live in Beaufort (as an example) make an average of €4,495; the data do not indicate how much people employed in Beaufort earn. As Statec put it, the data are for “all employees ... according to the employee’s municipality of residence.”
