National Health FundPsychotherapy added to treatments eligible for additional reimbursement

RTL Today
The National Health Fund (CNS) has announced that psychotherapy patients may now also apply for an additional reimbursement to limit their financial burden.

Since 1 February 2023, psychotherapy sessions have been partially covered by the CNS: 70% for adults and 100% for minors. On Wednesday, the CNS announced that it is aware that some people require “a significant number of sessions” to recover, which could result in a high financial burden for them. For this reason, patients may now apply for an additional reimbursement from the CNS, in certain circumstances.

Patients are eligible for additional reimbursement if their personal participation in health care benefits exceeds the threshold set at 2.5% of their annualised contributory income for the previous year. They may then apply to be refunded for the part of the contributions that exceeds this threshold.
