The Pirate Party has introduced its slogan for the municipal and legislative elections taking place in 2023.

The slogan is 'Gerecht Léisunge fir haut a muer', meaning 'Fair solutions for today and tomorrow'.

MP Sven Clement has been confirmed as the party's national lead candidate. So far, the Pirate Party has candidate lists in seven communes for the municipal elections. Four additional lists are currently being prepared, and individual Pirate Party candidates will run for local office in four more municipalities.

Tommy Klein, the former director of polling agency Ilres, is an adviser to the party and will run as a candidate in the elections, according to party coordinator and MP Marc Goergen.

Klein will run in the central voting district and said that he no longer "just wanted to provide figures and commentary," but actively participate.

He explained that, among all of Luxembourg's political parties, the Pirate Party is the one "that most closely adheres to my idea of citizen participation and social justice." Klein added that he immediately resigned after becoming an active member of the party.

Since 2021, the number of party members has increased by 80%, according to Goergen. The party now has around 700 members.
