Police have reported a series of burglaries across Luxembourg, including a case in Belair where two suspects were caught after investigators traced a mobile phone stolen the previous day.

Police responded to a burglary on Friday in Rue des Aubépines, Belair, where a mobile phone was among the items stolen. The following day, the victim was able to locate the device, enabling officers to identify and detain two suspects. As part of the investigation, police recovered some of the stolen property. Both suspects were arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor and brought before an investigating judge.

Further burglaries were reported on Monday. In Esch-sur-Alzette, a doctor’s office on Rue Victor Hugo was targeted, with a tablet and a laptop among the items stolen.

At around 3pm, burglars broke into an apartment building on Rue des Maraichers in Kirchberg by forcing open a balcony door. The intruders smashed a window, ransacked rooms and cupboards, and reportedly stole cash.

Later, at around 5pm, two burglars entered a house on Garerstrooss in Wecker after breaking a window. They stole electronic devices, jewellery, and other personal belongings.
