The police conducted several traffic checks between 23 and 26 January and issued a total of 339 fines for various offences. The authorities sought to raise awareness of two issues in particular.

The "Gutt Gesinn" campaign conducted by the police at the end of January has borne fruit. On Tuesday, the authorities revealed that officers had issued 339 fines in the space of six days.

In the majority of cases, motorists were fined for irregularities regarding their vehicle documents, even if that was not the main focus of the campaign.

The main goal was to raise awareness bout the importance of maintaining a clean windscreen, proper lighting, and legible number plates. A total of 123 fines were issued for these violations. Of these, 60 were for defective lighting and 37 for illegible number plates.

The remaining 216 offences were related to vehicle documents that were not in order.
