This week, Christos welcomes Djuna Bernard MP (dei Greng) and vice-president of the Chamber of Deputies to discuss her life, work and thoughts for 2023.

Another highly-awaited episode of Conversations with Christos, our new show that aims to give more people in Luxembourg an opportunity to get to know public figures shaping the country, politically, socially and culturally, is available now on RTL Play.

Djuna Bernard discusses her formative years with a single mother, who would take her to political meetings, and learning 'environmentally-friendly' gestures, such as turning off the water when washing your hands, from an early age.

The Green politician recalls joining the 'Young Greens', describing it: "like joining an activist group... demonstrating against the war in Afghanistan and against Cattenom [Nuclear Plant]!", at which point the show's Director of Photography, Luca Emering, noticed the nuclear plant on the horizon, and snapped the picture below.

Speaking to Christos, she shares how she felt like “being thrown into cold water and being forced to swim” when first entering the Parliament in 2018 at the young age of 26.

In the episode, the pair discussed voting rights in Luxembourg, the climate crisis, the ecological transition and what comes with it for Luxembourg, its financial centre, and the rest of the world.

Watch the FULL EPISODE exclusively on RTL PLAY.

A new episode is available every second Tuesday at 6pm on RTL Play.

On 24 January 2023, don’t miss the next conversation when Christos will sit down with Jean-Claude Juncker, 21st Prime Minister of Luxembourg and 12th President of the European Commission.
