CFL estimates that the funicular cuts the journey time to Kirchberg by 20 to 30 minutes, for passengers travelling by train from Petange, Esch-sur-Alzette or Ettelbruck.
The 200 metre journey takes 63 seconds, on a 19.7% incline. The maximum capacity of the line is 7,200 people per hour - with up to 168 passengers per cabin at any one time.
