On 27 August, a landslide occurred in the Schieburg railway tunnel during maintenance work on the railway line between Kautenbach and Wilwerwiltz.

The tunnel has since then been completely closed.

According to the latest information, the tunnel was to reopen on 11 December. However, this date was now corrected at a CFL press conference on Tuesday morning.

It will take until after the Easter holidays for the line to be in operation again. People from the North will therefore have to be patient for a few more months and continue to resort to bus or car if they want to travel towards Ettelbruck and the City, or back to the North.
