The awards night will take place on 1 December.
While it is custom for the press to release a list of nominees in the categories ‘Male Athlete of the Year’, ‘Female Athlete of the Year’, ‘Team of the Year’, and ‘Coach of the Year’, the committee has already decided on the winners in some of the other categories.
The ‘Honorary Awards’ will thus go to Colette Flesch and Ginette Rossini for their contributions to fencing. Duathlon athlete Pol Bissener receives the ‘Fair Play Award’.
The award for ‘Young Male Athlete of the Year’ goes to athlete Vivien Henz, ‘Young Female Athlete of the Year’ goes to skier Gwyneth ten Raa, and the ‘Young Team of the Year’ award goes to the U17 football national team.
The ‘Para Sports Award’ has been given to the municipality of Esch-sur-Alzette.
