The CSV has decided that their new co-president Elisabeth Margue will take over the mandate of Viviane Reding in the Chamber of Deputies.
Reding recently decided to put an end to her 43-year-long political career and resign as an MP on 1 October. On Tuesday, during the first new session in the Chamber of Deputies, the CSV will thus be represented by a new MP, namely Elisabeth Margue, co-president of the party.
The 32-year-old is part of a political family. Her great-grandfather already served as a Minister and her second-degree cousin, Charel Margue, is currently an MP for the Greens.
Margue has been active in politics for the past 15 years. In 2016, she was named president of the Christian Social Youth, the CSV junior section, followed by vice president of the CSV three years later. Since March 2022, she is co-president of the CSV alongside MP Claude Wiseler.
