As announced, Encevo is busy writing personally to customers who were affected by the cyber attack on 23 July.
Those affected have been informed individually by letter about which personal and sensitive data was passed on to the hackers during the attack. For example, the name, address, telephone number or even the account number.
Other than that, customers are advised to check their bank accounts regularly and to contact the bank immediately in case of suspicious transactions.
The risk of non-automated transfers, however, remains rather small due to security regulations. In addition, people are reminded never to communicate sensitive data by phone or e-mail and not to click on suspicious e-mails.
Exactly how many people have had their data fall into the wrong hands remains unknown.
Encevo assures customers that all means have been taken to limit the consequences of the attack as much as possible. The monitoring of the systems has also been strengthened.
According to its own statements, the group 'BlackCat' was behind the attack. The stolen data was published on the darknet after the attack.
