It isn't just the Schueberfouer that has gotten more expensive. The latest Statec report shows that inflation is at 6.8%, and the cost of living is on the rise.

In May, food prices had increased by 5.7% year-on-year, and by July that figure has risen to 7.54%. Also in July, the cost of transport was up by 12.35%, liquid fuels were up by 81.86%, gas by 42.56%, and package holidays by 27.29% compared to the same month a year prior. The beloved Schueberfouer has also come under fire for an increase in prices.

While Statec expect that another wage indexation will be triggered before the end of the year, and the Prime Minister is preparing for another tripartite meeting on the matter, finding ways to save on expenses is never a bad idea; more so given the rise in cost.

One way to save money is to look at the best available offer for gas and electricity. Another may be to go across the border for your back-to-school shopping.
