The police carried out a major traffic check in Gasperich on 25 May.
39 drivers did not respect the speed limit of 50 km/h. As a result, the police issued a total of 18 €49-fines and 21 €145-fines.
Two motorists were fined for going twice as fast as legally allowed.
Fines of €145 were also handed out to two drivers who used their mobile phone while driving and one who did not wear a seatbelt. All three drivers also lost two points on their driving licence.
Other drivers received warnings for not carrying a safety vest and driving with faulty lights or tyres respectively. Ten motorists were unable to show the officers the mandatory documents, for which they each received €24-fines.
