In both cases, the searches were carried out following suspicions that the shops were dealing in counterfeit goods. The interventions resulted in the seizure of nearly 5,000 allegedly counterfeit items from numerous luxury brands, as well as around €19,000 in cash. The money was confiscated by order of the public prosecutor’s office and investigations have been launched.

The operation was launched as a result of a collaboration between the judicial police’s general criminality service, the prosecutor’s office, and Europol’s Asset Management office.
