The exercise was designed to test border security arrangements under realistic conditions. According to the scenario, the perpetrators fled the scene in a vehicle and attempted to cross into Belgium before heading towards the north of the Grand Duchy.

On the Luxembourg side, the operation was coordinated by the Operations Directorate of the police and the National Intervention Centre (CIN). The exercise took place between 8.30am and 12pm and aimed to assess cross-border cooperation and the responsiveness of both countries’ emergency and security services in a real-world context.

Authorities emphasised that the drill was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen operational coordination and preparedness in the event of serious cross-border crime.
