Kenyans Ezekiel Koech and Mercy Tuitoek won the ING Night Marathon in Luxembourg City on Saturday evening, while Luxembourg's Jenny Gloden secured a victory in the half-marathon.
The 15th edition of the marathon saw a total of 12,000 runners from 43 countries participate.
Ezekiel Kiprop Koech was the first man to cross the finish line after two hours, 15 minutes, and 46 seconds. Second-placed Gedion Kipchirchir Murrei, also from Kenya, finished a remarkable 15 minutes and 57 seconds behind. Morocco's Alaa Hrioued came third, crossing the finish line 19 minutes and 30 seconds after Koech.
Bertil Muller was the first Luxembourgish man to finish the marathon with a time of two hours, 43 minutes, and 40 seconds.

The first woman to finish the race was Mercy Jeptoo Tuitoek in a time of two hours, 43 minutes, and 31 seconds. Second place went to Kenya's Shauline Chepkirui Koech, who crossed the finish line only one minute and 38 seconds after the winner. Kerry Price was third with a time of two hours, 58 minutes, and 29 seconds.
Shefi Xhaferaj was the fastest Luxembourgish woman on Saturday, crossing the finish line after three hours, seven minutes, and eleven seconds in fourth place.

The half-marathon was won by Spain's Eric Domingo Rolden, who needed one hour, twelve minutes, and 14 seconds. Second-placed Kamel Daouadji crossed the finish line only three seconds later, followed by Belgium's Justin Mahieu 14 seconds later.
Luc Scheller was the fastest Luxembourgish man over the 21-kilometre distance. He needed one hour, 14 minutes, and 11 seconds.
Luxembourg's Jenny Gloden was the fastest woman and won the half-marathon after one hour, 20 minutes, and 26 seconds. Anny Wolter came in second, crossing the finish line two minutes and twelve seconds after Gloden. Belgium's Charlotte Sujardin came third with an overall time of one hour, 29 minutes, and 14 seconds.
A total of 56 runners required medical attention from emergency services during the race.
