Supermarket chain Aldi has issued a recall notice for a Belgian cheese sold in its Luxembourg stores.
The cheese in question is the "Abdij Abbaye Zacht - Tendre" 175g with a best-before date of 6 June 2022.
According to a statement published on the Aldi website, the cheese could contain "Listeria monocytogenes" bacteria, which can cause headaches, fever or stomach flu. It is particularly dangerous for vulnerable people and young children as it can cause neurological symptoms.
Customers are advised not to consume the product - instead, they may return the cheese to stores for a full refund. A receipt is not required.
If consumed, customers should contact their GP as a matter of urgency if symptoms arise. Symptoms can last from a few hours to three days following consumption.
