People can thus expect to receive an alert message with the following text: “LU-ALERT / ALERTE TEST / NO ACTION REQUIRED / AUCUNE ACTION REQUISE / KEINE HANDLUNG ERFORDERLICH / INFOS: MINT.PUBLIC.LU.” Sirens will also be activated at noon, a test run that is usually completed every first Monday of the month.

The purpose of this exercise is to check if all warning channels function properly, to see if anything can be improved, and to ensure that people know what to expect in the case of an emergency. The government further plans on regularly running these tests to prepare the country for eventual disasters of natural or industrial origin.
