At 6pm on Sunday, police were alerted to a break-in on Rue des Hauts-Fourneaux Dommeldange. A burglar had reportedly stolen money from a cash register, and officers were able to identify the man thanks to footage from a security camera. A resident from the building then informed officers that he saw the burglar enter a nearby café.
The information turned out to be correct and officers were able to arrest the perpetrator. However, the man put up a fight and managed to injure both police officers in the process. He was then taken into the station and subjected to a body search, where he tried to resist again.
The burglar was presented to an examining magistrate on Monday morning.
