A false advertisement for an Eminem concert at the Stade de Luxembourg is circulating on social media. Luxembourg City municipality (VdL) has issued a statement, warning that the announcement is not real and no such concert is planned.

According to the municipality, users who click on the link are redirected to a website offering tickets, asking them to provide personal and financial information.

The offer is fraudulent and authorities urge the public to remain cautious. They also pointed out that the Stade de Luxembourg is reserved for sporting events and does not host concerts.

How to protect yourself

Scams like these circulate on social media from time to time. Here are some tips to help you navigate the internet safely:

  • Check the source carefully: Is the ad from an official website?
  • Don’t click immediately: Especially when it comes to offers that are hard to believe
  • Check the website: Strange URLs or spelling errors are a warning sign
  • Don’t provide any data: Don’t enter bank details or personal information on unknown websites
  • When in doubt, check or ask on official sites: Try to find information in the official website or in the media about whether the event really exists

After all, if a global icon like Eminem were coming to Luxembourg for a concert, you would have heard it on RTL first.
