The Luxembourgish State will support seven NGOs, which have signed a new framework agreement with Minister for Development Cooperation Franz Fayot on Wednesday, with €32 million.
The agreements are valid for the next four years. The NGOs will benefit from co-funding between 60 and 80% and must secure the rest themselves through donations.
The NGOs' projects target 25 different countries, including the Sahel crisis region, where some associations are active in Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The NGOs in question include the Unity Foundation, Handicap International, and the Red Cross to name just a few.
Areas covered by the associations include education, vocational training, the socio-economic integration of young people, and rural development.
