Three separate traffic accidents occurred within the space of fifteen minutes on Friday evening in Luxembourg, resulting in two motorcyclists and a child being transported to hospital. The first incident, around 6.15pm, involved a collision between a car and a motorbike on Boulevard de Kockelscheuer in Luxembourg City. Firefighters from the capital responded and transported the injured motorcyclist to hospital.

Shortly afterwards, at around 6.20pm, another motorcyclist was struck by a car on Avenue de Luxembourg in Bascharage. Emergency crews from the Bascharage fire station and an ambulance from Sanem-Differdange attended the scene, with the injured rider taken to the emergency department.

At approximately 6.30pm, emergency services were called to Rue Gansen in Niederkorn, where a child had been hit by a vehicle. Paramedics and firefighters from Sanem-Differdange provided assistance at the scene before transporting the child to hospital. The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) did not disclose information about the extent of the child’s injuries in its Saturday morning bulletin.

Several callouts for fires

Throughout the evening and night, Luxembourg’s fire brigades were also called out six times to deal with fires or smoke incidents, including vegetation fires and smoke detected on a bus. Around midnight, firefighters from Esch and Schifflange were deployed to extinguish a kitchen fire in a flat on Avenue de la Libération in Schifflange.
