
A patrol was investigating reports of an oil spillage near Stegen on Saturday afternoon when they were made aware of an accident on the B7 by the bridge at around 1pm. Three cars were involved in the pile-up.
Two people with injuries were found on the ground near the scene of the crash. Officers administered first aid and checked the other occupants of the vehicles. In total eight people were taken to hospital for treatment.
One of the motorists lost control of their vehicle while overtaking, ending up in the opposite lane and colliding with an oncoming car. A third car could not avoid collision with the two initial vehicles.

Drink driving
At 7pm on Saturday evening another incident occurred on the N15 between Wiltz and Heiderscheid, after an intoxicated driver lost control of their car and crashed into four parked vehicles outside a garage.
At 10.30pm, another drunk driver crashed into a wall in Pétange, damaging two street signs in the process.
In Hivange, yet another driver who had had one festive drink too many ran into a street sign and caused material damage.
