At around 4.25pm on Saturday, police received a report of a suspicious individual handling what appeared to be a weapon inside a car stopped in the middle of the road on Op der Stee in Schengen. Several police patrols were immediately dispatched to the scene. The vehicle was eventually located at the driver’s home address.

During a search of the car, officers found a CO2-powered airsoft gun and other related equipment. The items were seized. As the driver showed signs of having consumed alcohol and possibly drugs, officers carried out the relevant tests. Both the breathalyser and a rapid drug test for cannabis returned positive results.

The man’s driving licence was confiscated and he was issued with a driving ban. Reports were also filed for driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, as well as for violations of the weapons law.

At around 11pm, police received a report of another driver behaving erratically. The motorist was travelling towards Luxembourg City on the A4, reportedly weaving across the lanes. The driver repeatedly changed speed and even came to a stop in the middle of the motorway several times.

A police patrol eventually stopped the vehicle at a junction in Oberkorn. The driver tested positive for alcohol, and his driving licence was confiscated. He was also issued with a driving ban.
