A 37-year-old man was identified by judicial police to have sent threatening letters to the prime minister and minister of health last summer.
The public prosecutor's office communicated on Friday morning that the suspect had been arrested and was presented to the investigating judge.
The accused is currently in preventive detention at Schrassig Prison. The investigation continues.
Prime Minister Xavier Bettel said on 14 October that his personal protection had been increased after receiving death threats a week earlier. Bettel had announced a new Covid law.
In the Chamber he said: "I get death threats and I have to get police reinforcements because someone tells me he's going to kill me or is looking for another bullet and a gun. Those people tell me to stop vaccinations. We've heard enough of it, and do not want to hear anything more about it."
