Minister of Health Paulette Lenert and Minister of Justice Sam Tanson provided this information in their joint response to a parliamentary enquiry from MP Léon Gloden (CSV).
In their official response (FR), the ministers conveyed that 45 people tested positive for the coronavirus last week, including nine guards and 35 inmates.
Visits are now being restricted to a maximum of two people per inmate, while lawyers can still see their clients in a security area. Inmates are still allowed to spend one hour per day outside, but both work and mass are cancelled for the time being.
Vaccinated inmates will not have to quarantine after being in contact with a positively infected person. The CovidCheck system is not yet in place, but officials are still considering to implement the regime.
The current safety measures were put in place on 9 November and are scheduled to last until 7 December at least.
