According to French MP Isabelle Rauch, the measure has been extended until 30 September 2021.
After a similar agreement was finalised with our Belgian neighbours last week, France has now followed suit: unlimited remote work hours for all cross-border employees until the end of September. On Friday, Prime Minister Xavier Bettel conveyed that the government is also working on a comparable solution with Germany.
Although the accord has yet to be officially confirmed, MP Rauch already took to Twitter to break the news on Monday: "Prime Minister Jean Castex confirmed to me this morning that the emergency agreements on remote work have been prolonged until 30 September. I know many cross-border employees have eagerly awaited the announcement, and I am happy that I have been heard in this matter!"
In short, the agreement means that salaries will continue to be taxed in Luxembourg. The same applies to insurance coverage. MP Rauch further noted that the final agreement is set to be officially announced at the beginning of this week.
According to PM Bettel, the agreement may even be prolonged until the end of the year.
