Quantity instead of quality?Ministry of Education criticised over planned reform

RTL Today
As of next year, the study course for educators is to be reduced from three years to one.

In light of the planned reform, the High School for Educational and Social Professions (LTPES) issued a press release to criticise the government project.

LTPES emphasised that one year is not enough time for student teachers to acquire the necessary competencies.

The school suggests that quantity has all of a sudden become more important than quality. The shortage of employees in the sector is no justification for a reduction of study periods, the press release concludes.
