Two people were victims of a mugging on Rue St. Mathieu at 10pm on Thursday night.
The victims were approached by a group of five young men under a pretext. One of the group became aggressive and grabbed at the victims' necks. The victims resisted and the group fled towards Avenue de la Porte-Neuve, at which point one of the victims realised a necklace had been stolen.
The police were notified and the attackers were later found and charged by the public prosecutor.
At 10.30pm a second incident took place at the capital's rail station, where a man was mugged by three individuals, one of whom was armed with a knife. The suspects fled with the victim's valuables, and could not be located by police.
