Fayot stated that he is well aware that many companies have suffered greatly during the crisis, but he points out that there were also companies that have been able to continue their activities in a more or less normal way, while some have even managed to develop their business and bring it to the next level.

“Lessons have been learned for the years to come,” said the Minister from the Luxembourg Socialist Workers’ Party (LSAP), who cited the example of several companies such as Cosmolux, Rotarex, and B-Medical Systems, who managed to increase their investments significantly. Green technologies and digitalisation have experienced a real boost thanks to the crisis, according to the Minister, who cited Luxembourg’s steel industry as an example.

Fayot also stressed that the Government remains very attentive to the decisions taken at the borders, especially after the classification of France as a risk zone by Germany. If the borders with Luxembourg were closed, 30,000 German cross-border workers who are unable to resort to telework would be affected.
