To mark International Women's Day on 8 March, a varied programme has been set up by JIF (Journée Internationale des Femmes) and fraestreik.lu to raise awareness about discrimination against women, and to call on the government to improve its gender equality policies.

The programme includes an online demonstration at noon, followed by a skateboard meeting in the Peitruss skatepark (also open to beginners), live painting by Alex McKell and then the physical protest at 5pm.

Early February, activists announced their focal points for this year's edition of the event: shortening work hours at full salary rates, equal salary rights, and providing better access to social housing for everyone.

Nonetheless, along with Romania, Luxembourg has the lowest gender pay gap (GPG) in the European Union.
