The petition demanded two guaranteed home-office days per week, which would allow for a reduction of traffic and thereby help protect the environment. Minister Kersch explained that the government's coalition agreement does indeed include a revision of the outdated 2003 law, but that said process has yet to be completed.
The LSAP politician further conveyed that he believes a legal base can be created for cases where both employer and employee are in agreement over the amount of home-office days.
