Five MPs recently enquired about the rumours that the Luxembourgish airline stopped serving local sparkling wine on its flights.

Luxair CEO Gilles Feith talked to our colleagues from RTL about the accusations of having replaced a local product with a foreign import.

He confirmed that the airline was indeed now serving a "Cuvée Luxair": "We have to cut costs anywhere we can at the moment, and that process will certainly not stop with sparkling wine."

Feith further conveyed that Luxair will not cut local sparkling wine altogether, but rather go into the direction of product placement, which will allow businesses to market their products aboard.
