Minister for Mobility François Bausch confirmed this long delay in his reply to a parliamentary question by MP Octavie Modert from the Christian Social People's Party (CSV).
This applies in particular to drivers who have lost all 12 points on their driving licence and for whom a visit to the Colmar-Berg Training Centre is compulsory if they want to recover their licence.
The Centre's activities were suspended due to the pandemic during the state of emergency. This now results in a waiting period of nearly four months.
Additional staff have already been hired to make up for these delays. The Minister hopes that the situation will be back to normal by the summer.
It is recommended that drivers required to book an appointment do not wait until the last minute to do so.
The waiting list system allows appointments to be managed as efficiently as possible. If a person has to cancel his or her participation in the course, for example because of illness, his or her place can be quickly offered to another candidate.
