A7 drivers will be all too familiar with the reoccurring sight: lengthy traffic jams shortly before Ettelbruck, when the two-lane motorway merges into the single lane of the B7. It's a tailback that often reaches the previous exit of Colmar-Berg.

The traffic jam is especially dangerous during rush hour, when numerous lorries and cars make use of the route and tailbacks form instantaneously. The danger here is a wall and a sharp turn, which strongly reduces visibility and leads to frequent accidents, says MP André Bauler. Even a warning sign is insufficient.

Politicians hope to come up with a solution by the end of spring. The Transport Ministry is optimistic: "The Roads and Bridges Administration is currently working on it" and "results will come rapidly", according to Minister of Mobility François Bausch.
