According to RTL information several parents have already been informed that children should take their books and notebooks from the main subjects back home before the Christmas break.
"Prepare for digital learning" was amongst messages sent out on Thursday by the Ministry of Education to teachers in the country. As senior official Lex Folscheid told RTL this was a call to prepare for distance learning post-holiday.
This does not mean that an extension of the Christmas holidays nor general homeschooling has been decided on, but it hints at the fact that the government is preparing for a difficult return and taking national measures. Some parents have been told their children should take home material from their main courses.
According to Lex Folscheid, the ministry would also advise children to take books home to fill their free time, as fewer external activities are possible. The Ministry of Education itself would also look into providing some additional tools.
