Grand Duke Henri, Mayor Lydie Polfer and Minister for Mobility and Public Works François Bausch travelled on the new leg. The entire line now stretches from the Luxexpo to the Central Station.

Timetables for buses and trains run by RGTR, AVL, CFL and Luxtram will be adapted, with new lines added from Sunday 13 December. The city's bus network has been amended to make way for the new tram stations, with some 1,700 buses no longer passing through the city centre.
