Timetables for buses and trains run by RGTR, AVL, CFL and Luxtram will be adapted, with new lines added from Sunday 13 December.
The tram will run from Luxexpo in Kirchberg to the capital's central station and back, with a journey time of around 24 minutes.
The city's bus network has been amended to make way for the new tram stations, with some 1,700 buses no longer passing through the city centre.
The Ministry of Mobility and Public Works said the amended timetable, which usually takes place every December, will mainly affect the RGTR bus network.
Minister François Bausch said the RGTR network will offer, on many existing lines as well as on new lines, better service on weekends and in the evenings, as well as a general acceleration of scheduled buses. The new national and municipal timetables are designed to allow faster and more frequent connections between all regions and to the city of Luxembourg.
The new timetable will ensure public transport in Luxembourg City will become more efficient and users of public transport will be able to fully benefit from multimodality in the city, said Bausch.
RGTR national bus routes
Four new bus lines will enter into service:
Line 105: Junglinster - Ettelbrück (via Diekirch) / partially replacing line 100
Line 461: Itzig - Howald (via Bonnevoie) / partially replacing line 144
Line 536: Ettelbrück - Esch-sur-Sûre (via Eschdorf, Merscheid)
Line 543: Ettelbrück - Consthum (via Bourscheid)

School transport changes for RGTR
The following school buses will have amended bus stops, routes and/or timetable:

From Sunday 13 December 2020, the tram will run according to the following schedule on the Luxexpo - central station route.Monday to Friday:• Luxexpo first departure: 4:30 am. / Luxexpo last departure: 12:00 am.

Saturday:
