The patients have been transferred to the Covid unit at Esch-sur-Alzette hospital. The affected departments will not be admitting any further patients.
Patients who have tested negative have been placed under observation or in isolation awaiting results of a second test. Positive staff members have been placed in quarantine at home according to Ministry of Health regulations.
In total, 45 medical staff members and 13 administrators working at the sites belonging to the Emile Mayrisch centre have tested positive for the virus and are currently in quarantine at their homes.
